Hey there!

No problem, man. The difference between 64kbps and VBR (Variable bit-rate) is quality. VBRs have higher quality sound but are generally larger in size.

If you're downloading a show to burn to CDs, avoid the MP3s. Go for FLAC or shn (converted to wav later), that's the best quality.

If you're downloading just to listen to on your comp or for an MP3 player, MP3 is the way to go. 64kbps MP3's here sound decent, but I always go for VBR. It sucks up extra space on my MP3 player (zune) but the gain in quality is worth it to me.

So whatever is more important to you, in terms of desktop-use or MP3-use, quality or quantity.

You'll hear a definite difference with decent headphones (even $20 ones) on an MP3 player.

I think 64k is only good for mono speeches and talks, and bought many CDs over when I realized I went too low trying to save space.
